At Hypha Studios, Battersea

Hot Desque (Neena Percy & Lizzy Drury), Kinga Oktabska and Luca Bosani are very happy to invite you to their Studio Warming:

Stewart’s Court, SW8 4UB, London (we will put up signs, as the studio can be slightly tricky to find)

The artists will open the doors of their new studios, kindly provided for a year by Hypha Studios. The studio residents were selected from an open call, by Katy Wan (Assistant Curator, Tate Modern) Simon Tate, the Hypha Trustees and the Hypha Advisory group.

Join us for mulled wine, drinks and snacks to celebrate the beginning of a new creative journey for the artists, Hypha Studios and the local community in Battersea, Nine Elms and neighbouring areas..

Founded in 2018, @hotdesque is a partnership between artists Lizzy Drury and Neena Percy. Their worldbuilding practice spans installations, set design, film, writing, publications and workshops. Pushing the boundaries of curation, they explore the potential to re-enchant matter and create theatrical mise-en-scènes through collaborations with other artists.

@kingaobstabska (b. 1995) is an artist from Wroclaw, Poland. Searching for a relationship between landscape, memory and identity, her practice reconstructs the narrative of a place from fragments: discarded objects, unremembered stories, erased lines.

@luca_bosani is a local artist living in Battersea since 2015. Graduated in 2017 with an MA in Contemporary Art Practice and Performance from the Royal College of Art. Through community building, the generation of inclusive environments and post-gender wearable art, Luca’s practice is a proposition to overcome inequalities, toxic masculinity and gender discrimination.
