PRIVATE VIEW Thursday 15 June 2023, 6 – 8pm

In collaboration with Hypha Studios, ‘Corpus’ brings together a group of artists who address concepts related to the body, matter and structure. With painting, installation, sculpture and video, they approach physical, emotional and political structures as a pliable material that can be morphed, reimagined and reinvented. Objects materialise into autonomous and sensual bodies and surfaces are pushed, pulled and broken up, to reveal the personal and deeply felt. The corpus becomes a layered and fluid space between the body, place and time.

The exhibition touches upon personal and universal themes through an investigation of bodily memory, body politics, trauma and broken physical and sociological utopias. This will be enriched and supported by a comprehensive event programme of talks and workshops delving into these subjects, with materials and processes relevant to the practice of each artist.
