Ian Moss

Ian Moss studied art & design at North Essex School of Art in the mid-80’s, then fine art for a short while at Portsmouth- specialising in sculpture and assemblage. He ran an Arts Council supported art group ‘Maldon Youth Arts Workshop’ for children aged 13-17. More recently, Ian has exhibited at Peter Pears Gallery in Aldeburgh, at the Harwich Arts Festival, at The Hold, Ipswich, and at Ipswich Waterfront.

Public Programme

Ian is an experienced artist and curator from Hitcham that ran his own art gallery in Ipswich from 2012-2016. He will use this opportunity to create an art gallery space (for a variety of art forms) in Stowmarket. He understands the area and could bring some exciting art and artists to the town, while also finding emerging/hidden talent to give them a chance to show their work.

Ian will stage regular exhibitions to create a vibrant creative community with fortnightly or monthly creative get-togethers. The gallery events will feature musicians, drink/snacks, chat, art, film, book launches, poetry readings, business networking events, performance art and more.
