Culture has dissolved into the world itself
Fredric Jameson, 1986

Underneath each picture, there is always another picture.
Douglas Crimp, Pictures 1979

A photograph is not only like its subject, [it is], an extension of that subject; and a potent means of acquiring it, of gaining control over it.
Susan Sontag, 1977

We live in an image world. Pictures circulate with the speed of thoughts, shaping not only what we see, but how we understand time, value, and presence.

This exhibition brings together artists who use photographic imagery and its mediated aesthetics to explore how visual culture registers the contemporary moment. In their work, the image is not a neutral mirror, but a charged site: something that indexes, seduces, and intervenes.

What emerges is not a critique from outside the spectacle, but a highlight of practices embedded within it, exposing the ways culture no longer reflects reality, but cyclicly produces it.
