PENUMBRA is an exhibition by 24/7, a collective of six women artists, alumni of The Royal College of Art 2020 -2022. This unique bond reveals interconnected experiences as they individually explore fleeting moments where memory, like shadow, slips, folds, and accumulates, transformed.

PENUMBRA explores the half shade, a complex interplay of dualities. Through the rich materiality of glass and ceramics, the intangible is given form, using intense, tactile processes. Traces of knowledge and time are captured within these elemental materials, creating works shaped by memory, light and absence.

Revealing unseen narratives, these works by Mils Bridgewater, Caroline Chouler-Tissier, Natasha Fontenelle, Dovile Grigaliunaite, Caz Hildebrand and Phillipa Silcock hold a trace, each slip a movement caught, every fold a presence embodied with accumulation, time unfolds – visible, textured, enduring.
