‘Shifting Grounds’ brings together six artists whose practices expand the language of abstraction through sculpture, painting, and installation. Engaging with the physicality of the space, the exhibition plays with spatial perception, architectural forms, and light — even including a miniature model of the show itself.
Through a flexible, open layout, visitors are invited to move, observe, and interact, creating shifting dialogues between works and perspectives.
Each artist approaches abstraction as a way to explore materiality, identity, and transformation: Bunga Yuridespita reconfigures space through architectural narratives; Evi Pangestu examines control and resistance within painted structures; Faris Nakamura reconstructs emotional architectures; Haffendi Anuar reimagines natural forms through a decolonial lens; Joshua Kon experiments with light and structure; and Xiuching Tsay reflects on existential and spiritual transformation.
Together, their works form a dynamic, interconnected landscape that invites engagement, exploration, and renewed ways of seeing.
