Emmanuel Unaji is a British-born Nigerian multidisciplinary artist & co-founder of the award winning design company, Unaji & Co. His signature portraits combining collage, painting and drawing have been featured in household institutions including Le Carreau du Temple Paris, Tate Britain, London Fashion Week. As well as publications and brands such as Forbes, British GQ and Adidas.
They hope to engage with local organisations that service young adults especially those who are looking to make the next transition in their creative pursuits. They will prioritising university graduates of creative degrees or young adults with creative interests within art and fashion to provide workshops and training that prepare them for the next phase of their career journeys which will include potential internships for Unaji projects.
Emmanuel is keen to work with Medway University, UCA and University of Kent but is researching other colleges that support artistic endeavours.
Use of space
Artistic development: So far, the space has been used for the development of Emmanuel’s fashion brand and given space to a considered approach to production.
Public Programme: The group has built relationships with Medway Culture Club and hosted a painting workshop for young people aged 11-15. They also offered a ‘Portfolio Clinic’ for young creatives aged 16-18, to help them make the transition to college or university to study art and/or fashion.
