Large gallery/studio space in Sheffield

1 large gallery space for contemporary art exhibitions AND/OR art studio for large scale work

We are looking for artists and curators that are looking for free space in Sheffield.
There are two large open plan floors – you will need to be able to demonstrate how you will use both spaces.
The ground floor will be used for a rolling programme of exhibitions & the first floor could be a studio space for large scale makers.

You could apply as:

• A curator overseeing a group show
• Or you could have a plan for a rolling programme of exhibitions
• Alternatively you could be part of a group that needs to use the space or one floor to make large art work

The site will be used for free – in return you will organise some public- facing events as part of your occupation. This could be workshops, talks or anything which supports your creative practices.

PLEASE NOTE

We would want this unit to be used at a minimum of 4 days a week (ideally more, and hours to be agreed in advance). We are committed to supporting creatives and communities most in need & will prioritise creatives who declare they are struggling – whether financially, mentally or physically. We will also prioritise those that cannot afford exhibition or studio space.
