Using construction site hoardings around 15 Blackfriars, this project will engage communities, improve the street setting as works progress and build the understanding of the place as a cultural destination.

Selected by neighbouring Tate Turbine Hall curator.
How it’s good for communities:
New outdoor gallery of rotating shows that has something to offer local groups- either by local residents, or has a thematic of the culture/history of the area of Blackfriars.
Open call criteria for artists to apply:
1) tell us what you’d do
2) how would you use a £40k budget- broken down into fees and materials.
3) what’s your timeline
4) how is it related to Blackfriars
5) how will you engage the local community
6) full list of artists included
7) examples of previous relevant work
8) digital mock up of idea
9) how will it be maintained – vandalism/graffiti etc
10) confirm the work to be done between 27th Jan – 24th February 2025- no later.
Timeframe:
8th December: Close Open Call
W/c 16th December: interviews take place
W/c 6th January:announce selected proposal
W/c 27th January: work to start.
W/c 24th February: work installed/completed.
