Flying Chairs Theatre

Flying Chairs are a Bristol-based theatre company founded in 2019, dedicated to producing a diverse range of theatre in and around the city. They share their creative home at the former Farm Fresh in Broadwalk Shopping Centre, Knowle, with Owl on the Roof theatre company.

Public Programme

Since their first show in 2019, Flying Chairs have staged an exciting mix of productions, from contemporary plays to original work and improv. Recent highlights include Dead End Jobs, a darkly comic piece performed at The Alma Tavern Theatre in March 2024, and their fully improvised hit Improv and Chill, which went on to earn a five-star review at the 2024 Edinburgh Fringe.

The company continues to develop new projects and is passionate about exploring fresh forms of theatre, including devised work, improv, and absurdism. Alongside their main productions, they host weekly Open Rehearsal Tea and Coffee Mornings and run a Youth Theatre programme offering trauma-informed drama workshops for young people in South Bristol.
