Hypha Studios Kentish Town

Hypha Studios has taken on a former cinema in the heart of Kentish Town. The selected artists have been awarded free studio space, a community workshop area and gallery space.

A collective of local creatives who work across diverse media have been awarded studios in a former Kentish Town cinema, kindly supported by Camden Council. In return, the artists will host public events including discussions, film screenings, readings, and activity sessions. The studios were awarded to the artists following a free-to-apply open call.

💬 Camilla Cole & Will Jennings of Hypha Studios say: “We couldn’t be more pleased with the selected artists who form a diverse collective already with individual experiences working with the likes of the ICA, Barbican, and BBC Sounds, and now with a dedicated working space and growing network will be able to establish their careers.”

💬 Camden Council is creating a new type of building where local organisations, businesses, and residents can come together to take action, test new ways of doing things and shape their local neighbourhood. The aim is that these ‘Neighbourhood Spaces’ will be bustling hives of imagination and activity, governed by the community and self-funded through enterprise that supports local people.
