The Little Art Factory

Leanne Blair (b.1979) is an artist and art teacher with a mixed media practice encompassing drawing, painting, photography and printmaking. Her recent work has involved creating collaborative, process based artworks.

She is an artist and experienced art teacher who will create large scale, collaborative artworks with children and young adults from the local community. This would focus on art play and visual enquiry through a varied program of workshops sessions focusing on young people exploring materials and processes. After teaching in Secondary School education for almost 18 years she feels there are major restrictions on children’s creativity and I would like the opportunity to create and facilitate experiences for young people within my local community which don’t follow a prescriptive curriculum.

She will host a taster sessions for children / young people and their families. This will be facilitated workshops ranging from 3 to 18 year olds. Continuing on from the taster session, Leanne will offer up to 5 workshop sessions a week – like a summer school for young children. This will be accompanied by a window display of the artworks created as well as a public exhibition.
