Artwork Submission: Jointless

Jointless: A Choreography
If the body is the mediator between our mind and external surroundings, our movements are the unspoken vocabulary we express ourselves with. When multiple bodies move together, motioned languages take shape, defined by a shared literacy and conditioning of the group they are performed by.

The exhibition will explore how individual movements, shaped and influenced by socio-political structures, transform into collective motion or inertia. Such a choreography of society, be it the performance of gender, the practice of rituals, or our digital routines, reveals an invisible interplay/reciprocity between human practices and regimes of power. By investigating movement through a critical lens this exhibition raises questions about seemingly inert bodily motions and gestures and asks if we can protest through the omission of movement or by shifting into a different direction?
