1,2,3, Alt! – Traveling between distinct times, only artworks are anchors showing that we exist. 

 sitnaltA: 1,2,3, Alt! is a site-responsive exhibition that reclaims the mundane as anchors of existence. Employing fictioning as a curatorial method, the exhibition transforms a former café into a liminal space oscillating between the present and speculative futures. As the exhibition unfolds in evolving phases, artists and curators reconfigure artworks in the public’s presence. Such processes simulate the traversing between three speculative time periods. 

 Featuring emerging London-based artists whose works examine the value of everydayness, sitnaltA: 1,2,3, Alt! positions artworks as clues, inviting audiences to unravel the mystery behind fictional narratives. Transforming passive observation into an act of discovery, the exhibition highlights the subtle yet concrete moments that ground us amid the accelerating pace of contemporary life. 

This exhibition is part of Project sitnaltA (@sitnaltA_2702), an ongoing curatorial initiative by Serena Xinran Gao (@serena_xrgao) and Alex Xiaonan Guo (@archimbaldi666), dedicated to exploring fictioning as a curatorial approach. Following sitnaltA’s debut exhibition at The Handbag Factory (March 2025), this iteration continues the project’s speculative narrative—a future in the 27th century where ecological collapse has driven humanity into virtual existence.
