The Dispensary is a network of artist/makers/designers and collaborators across north Wales with a strong focus in Wrexham. Due to the size of Wrexham the artists have all been working close proximity on various projects throughout Wrexham for the last few years. Their creative practice encompasses a diverse range of art forms, including large-scale paintings, locally sourced ceramics, innovative print techniques, socially engaged workshops and exhibition curation. Their work also includes dynamic performance art, photography and sculpture, collaborating on sizeable interactive projects, and public art initiatives.

Over a six-month tenancy, they plan to engage with artists across the sector in Wales and curate three major exhibitions that explore a range of themes. The spaces will host interactive workshops, artist talks, and experimental performances, encouraging community engagement and active participation. There will also be a number of free community arts days, featuring exhibition openings, artist talks, and interactive workshops. Local artists from the studio spaces will lead hands-on sessions in various mediums, encouraging participants of all ages to create their own art. The event will also include a live music performance by local musicians, creating a welcoming atmosphere. These events will foster connections between artists and the public, making art accessible to everyone.

Ryan Saunders is an independent curator based in Wrexham. He has been the co-curator of The Dispensary Gallery, facilitating around 15 exhibitions and working with various institutions, recently securing roles at Ty Pawb, MOMA Machynlleth and Eisteddfod Yr Urdd.

Seren Ambrose-Ellis (Welsh b. 2000) is a painter who explores the sociology of walls and ways in which their gradual decay becomes a concrete reminder of its history. She is interested in vandalism and the communicative dynamics found through graffiti.

Neat Sleeper’s practice is rooted in collage and branches out into sculpture, installation, video, sound, and text-based works that interrogate and fragment notions of consumption in contemplation of a more liberated, spontaneous experience.
