Tom Cardew, Jennifer Taylor, Philippa Brown

Tom Cardew, Jennifer Taylor and Philippa Brown are all living permanently in Cardiff as practising artists. Arcade have delivered public programme for 10 years+. Previously, we have been supported by g39 and the Freelands Foundation. Philippa is in the current Jerwood Survey exhibition, Tom completed a Fluxus residency and Jennifer attended the British School at Rome.

They are contemporary artists working in a range of studio-oriented media, including sculpture, installation, film, drawing and painting. They previously shared a studio together as recipients of the g39/Freelands Fellowship (2020-22). They each individually create narrative-led, physical artwork. ArcadeCampfa are currently working on a series of residencies in libraries and other civic spaces, and an arts therapy project in partnership with the NHS. They work closely with artists to develop new, site-specific work. They organise exhibitions and events, digital residencies, and are part of Yellow Back Books and Biscuits Press risograph press.

Arcade will use the space as shared, dedicated studios. They all live within walking distance and intend to regularly use the studios (occupied many times per week). They aim to host open studios, exhibitions and performance events. ArcadeCampfa have presented a programme of exhibitions, residencies, performances and events out of two shopping centre units. This was cut short for them when the shopping centre went into administration in 2023, and so would be to bring back the core elements of their programming, working with the artists in the studios as well as through their wider programme.
