The group consists of 15 emerging creative practitioners from London, the one thing their international cohort shares is the momentum and determination to create. They are inquisitive, thoughtful and resourceful, spanning several disciplines and mediums. Often taking reference from living and working as artists in London.
Their work has been in one exhibition at Yorkton Workshops and featured in Dezeen. Khoury reflects on his Palestinian roots with a sculptural water fountain, while Gil examines Postmodernist design in Poland. Rot’s experiments with unfired clay advocate for sustainable products, and Hodges crafts identical stools from local birch, metal, clay and resin. Griffin makes furniture from broken bike locks. Sim reinterprets Korean sacrifice ware, Slater and Barnett delve into experimental dining with condiment brands and wine vessels, while Locmele creates kitchenware for space travel.
The exhibition they did at Yorkton Workshop only ran for 2 days. They are, however, incredibly happy with the exhibition’s success, featuring in Dezeen and shared all over Instagram including by UAL, they would love to take the work
and present it in a new venue for a longer period of time so that more people can see what they created and share their individual stories.
They will hold closing and opening events, a friends and family session, and an industry night. They will also offer participatory events surrounding the experimental food projects, including a tasting session with reminisce by Slater, and a wine ritual hosted by Barnett. The will offer these workshops and host several more that tie in with the various project, one will be a DIY session with broken bike locks.
